WATERPROOF BATHROOM DOORS

When choosing interior doors, the biggest challenges arise with bathroom doors. The requirements for these doors are specific and related to the high moisture levels in the room and the materials they are made of.

What are the options?

If aesthetics are a priority, the bathroom door should look similar to the other doors in the house. There are options where the materials used for these bathroom doors are waterproof. The surface is made of HPL (high-pressure laminate), the frame of the door leaf and the casing are made of composite materials (a mixture of resins and solid particles), and the core is made of polyurethane foam. The hinges and the lock are made of stainless steel. With this option, the bathroom door is waterproof and suitable even for small spaces where the air is often humid.

Another good option is to choose a glass door for the bathroom. The door leaf can be mounted on various types of casings – metal, aluminum, or wooden. The disadvantage of this type of door is poor sound insulation and the need for frequent cleaning. It is suitable for small spaces as well.

When the bathroom is larger and has a shower cabin or a bathtub, where water does not splash on the door, it is possible to install doors with various coatings – veneered, laminated, or with decorative foil. It is essential to consider the opening direction and the difference in the floor level between the bathroom and the hallway.

Often, when the budget is limited, the room is small, and the appearance is not a priority, the option is aluminum doors. They can be painted in a color of choice or made from profiles laminated with a wooden decor. The filling of the doors can be different – glass packets made of mirror or frosted glass, as well as various panels made of PVC, aluminum, or other materials, in a matching color.

Whatever type of bathroom door you choose, it is essential to get an idea of the final result. At Doordecor, you will receive the necessary consultation to make the right choice.
