NEWS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAPELI INTERIOR DOORS

Returning to their style of continuous development and improvement of quality, this year Sapeli introduced innovations in the construction of interior doors. Several important details in the manufacturing of doors reflect on their performance over time.

The materials invested in various details are carefully selected and subjected to testing by Sapeli specialists. For the frame of the door leaf, there are several types of materials, depending on the intended use of the doors. In the lowest class, it is made of multi-layered, wedge-shaped bonded softwood. In the middle and premium classes, horizontal additional reinforcing elements made of dense MDF are added to this frame. In these cases, the door leaf can be made of lightweight or dense MDF.

For doors with special purposes, such as fire-resistant, soundproof, or climate doors, the frame construction changes. In these cases, the frame is made of multilayered glued wood panels placed perpendicular to the surface of the door leaf. When necessary, additional reinforcement from the same material is added.

Other crucial details include the lock and hinges. The new lock from Sapeli features improved construction and durability. Its main role is played by a 3 mm thick metal plate mounted on the inner side of the door leaf. The lock is fixed to it with screws passing through the entire thickness of the wooden leaf.<

The hinges are reinforced, mounted on a metal hinge holder, and tested for durability, enduring over 300,000 cycles.

All these aspects make Sapeli interior doors maximally durable and secure for long-term use.
